(Chatham, VA) – The Virginia Cooperative Extension service is looking for local farmers who want to increase their productivity through the use of information technology
The Extension service received a $104,000 grant from Virginia’s Tobacco Region Revitalization Commission in January to fund its project called SOVA Agribusiness Information Technology Program. The program seeks to help local farmers use information technology to help increase efficiency and profits, while decreasing costs. To date, 52 crop and livestock producers have signed up for the program from Pittsylvania, Halifax, Henry, and Franklin Counties and six other counties.
Applications will be accepted at the Pittsylvania County office of the Virginia Cooperative Extension service through July 31st.
