(Tightsqueeze, Va.) — James Jones, the man who escaped from the Chatham jail Friday morning, was recaputured Saturday night, without incident.

A sheriff’s spokesman says a concerned citizen spotted Jones at the Valero Convenience Market in Tightsqueeze and notified police. He was arrested by Pitttsylvania County Sheriff’s deputies and Chatham Police.

Jones is being checked out for dehydration and minor injuries suffered during his escape. Once the medical examination is complete, he will be returned to the Pittsylvania County jail

In addition to the original sentence, Jones will now face a felony escape charge.
