(Pittsylvania County, Va.) — Authorities searching for a missing Pittsylvania County woman say she has been located and is safe.

78-year-old Virginia M. Adkins was reported missing early Saturday when she failed to arrive to pick up a family member. She was headed to Danville at the time of her disappearance.

Authorities were concerned because Adkins may suffer from dementia.

She was found, unharmed, several hours after family members reported her missing.
