(Chatham, Va.) — Fire destroyed a Pittsylvania County cabinet shop late Wednesday afternoon.

A passerby spotted flames at Wayne’s Cabinet Shop off Route 29 in Chatham. Firefighters responded and found smoke and flames coming from the business. The fire was contained by 7 p.m. but crews were still dousing hot spots. The building and its contents were destroyed.

Several volunteers departments responded to the call and the Pittsylvania County fire marshal is investigating the cause.

There were no injuries.
