(Henry County, Va.) — The Henry County Sheriff’s Office is looking for the grower who cultivated hundreds of marijuana plants in the Stanleytown area.

Sheriff’s deputies, Virginia State Police and Drug Enforcement Administration agents discovered the mature pot plants during their annual eradication effort this week.

In addition to the 450 marijuana plants found growing in the Stanleytown area, additional pot plants were found growing in the Rangeley area of Henry County.

Most of the plants were about six feet in height, found near the woods, and authorities say they do not think the two marijuana growing operations are related.

Henry County authorities say the plants were part of an outdoor growing operation and have an estimated street value of approximately $1.3 million.

No charges have been filed to this point but authorities are continuing to look for those responsible for the growing operation.

The eradication effort was conducted Wednesday and Thursday.
