(Pittsylvania County, Va.) – The Pittsylvania County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a murder discovered Sunday at 580 Gray’s Park Road in the Brosville community.

Investigators were called to the home about 6:30 Sunday evening and found a woman dead. She has been identified as 30-year-old Heather Matherly, of the same address.

The sheriff’s department has not said how Matherly died; however, the state medical examiner has ruled her death a homicide.

A news release from the sheriff’s office does not say whether there are any suspects in the murder but indicates investigators are continuing to interview friends and neighbors.
