(Chatham, Va.) — The search for a Ringgold man who has now been missing for nearly two months continues, but so far there has been no sign of Robert Isaac Hurt.

Sheriff Mike Taylor updated reporters Thursday and provided a timeline for the events following Hurt’s disappearance on Dec. 9th, when he left home and never returned.

Taylor said it was not unusual for Hurt to be gone for a day or two, but his wife reported him missing after the father of 3 failed to return after five days.

He went missing during a heavy snowstorm and a possible sighting of his truck on Goodyear Blvd. led to a pair of searches but no sign of the 37-year-old carpenter. Hurt’s truck was found abandoned in Danville on Dec. 20.

Sheriff Taylor stopped short of calling this a criminal investigation.

A $2,000 reward is being offered for information leading to his safe return.
