(Richmond, Va.) — Virginia voters will make their picks Tuesday in several primary contests that may help decide the balance of power in the General Assembly. There are highly contested contests in both parties, and in both the state House and state Senate.

Locally, the 15th District state Senate seat will be decided Tuesday as voters from Pittsylvania County and two Danville precincts head to the polls. Voters will choose between incumbent Frank Ruff and challenger Dale Sturdifen to determine who will be the candidate in the general election Nov. 5. There is no Democratic challenger.
