DANVILLE, VA — A man who led Virginia State Police on a pair of high-speed car chases was arrested in Danville following a brief foot chase.

71-year-old Willie Junnie Elmore was spotted on Holbrook Street and was apprehended after a brief foot chase Monday.

In addition to eluding law enforcement, Elmore is wanted by the Danville Police Department for felony shoplifting and felony failure to appear in court.

He is being held in the Danville City Jail.
