DANVILLE, Va. – Amanda Lynn Whillhite has been sentenced to life without parole after pleading guilty to the murders of two Danville women in 2017.

The 36-year-old Danville woman was originally charged with capital murder, first-degree murder and robbery in connection with the deaths of 49-year-old Kelly Fears Wrenn and 35-year-old Ashley Lauren Joy Jones.

Wrenn and Jones were found dead on Jan. 8, 2017, in their home at 334 Wrenn Drive in Danville. The Roanoke Medical Examiner’s Office determined that both died of stab wounds.

Willhite had lived at the address and was reported missing by police at the time of the murders. Investigators found her at a Jacksonville, North Carolina, hotel after a two-day search.

She avoided a possible death sentence by pleading guilty. The judge sentenced Willhite Wednesday to three life sentences.
