DANVILLE, Va. – The National Weather Service says the Danville area could see the first mixed precipitation of the new decade on Tuesday.

Not much is expected locally, although the NWS says we could get a mixture of rain, snow and sleet Tuesday morning, changing to all rain after noon. There is also a slight chance of snow Tuesday night; however, no accumulation is predicted here on the Southside.

One to three inches of snow possible in the mountains of Virginia Tuesday and a light coating to up to one inch in the Lynchburg, Bedford, and Roanoke areas.
