PITTSYLVANIA COUNTY, Va. – Virginia State Police are investigating a traffic accident involving a pedestrian that happened on U.S. 29 in Pittsylvania County Sunday night.

Reports from the scene indicate that the individual was struck by a northbound Chevy truck near the intersection of  Highway 29 and HG McGhee Drive in Tightsqueeze and died at the scene.

Chatham Fire and Rescue responded about 11:30 p.m. Sunday for a report of a motor vehicle accident involving a pedestrian.

State Police are investigating.
