PITTSYLVANIA COUNTY, Va. – Virginia State Police have identified the pedestrian killed on US 29 at Tightsqueeze late Sunday night as 24-year-old Loren Drew Wright of Java, Va.

According to authorities, Wright was walking in the right northbound lane along U.S. 29 when struck by a 1994 Dodge Dakota pickup truck about 11:45 p.m. Sunday.

Wright died at the scene.

The crash occurred about one tenth of a mile north of the intersection of Tight Squeeze Rd. with U.S. 29 in Pittsylvania County.
