DANVILLE, Va. – Danville Police have identified the victims in Wednesday evening’s crash on South Main Street as 74-year-old Teddie Lee Hendrix and 53-year-old Wendy Michelle Meadows. Both were from Providence, NC.

Danville Police say the accident happened just after 5 p.m. when a 2004 Nissan Altima pulled from Updike Place and into the path of a 2014 GMC pickup truck, in front of the Dollar General store.

The pickup was traveling in the southbound lane of South Main Street when the vehicles collided. The driver of the pickup truck walked away, uninjured. Hendrix and Meadows were traveling in Nissan. They died at the scene.

The wreck closed a portion of the busy thoroughfare as police, fire and rescue units responded to the accident.
