Yard & Bake Sale Fundraiser

Saturday, April 18th, 2015 - PATHS Relay for Life team will be holding a Yard and Bake Sale from 7am 'til noon - rain or shine.    The event will take place at their Danville location at 705 Main Street.   All proceeds will benefit the PATHS team, "Making PATHS for a Cure" and the American Cancer Society.    Tables will be available to rent for $10 each.   All table reservations and monies will be due April 11.   More info, call 434-791-4122 or email:

Touch A Truck

Black Pot Chicken Dinner

Saturday, April 18th, 2015 - the Climax Volunteer Fire Department is hosting a Black Pot Chicken Dinner to raise funds.   The event takes place from 4:30 'til 6:00pm at their station building.    The address is 4166 Climax Road in Chatham.     Cost is $8 per plate - eat-in or take-out.    Dinner includes black pot fried chicken, corn on the cob, baked beans, roll, dessert and drink.   The funds from this event help the fire department in their efforts to protect the community.   Join the fun!

Rock The Lot to Feed the Hungry

Saturday, April 18th, 2015 -  the Rock the Lot to Feed The Hungry event will take place from 3 'til 10pm.    The address is 211 South Second Avenue in Mayodan, NC.   LOT 2540 is a non-profit recycling and salvage ministry that provides crisis to stability services to local families in need.    There will be lots of great live entertainment, food concessions, a bake sale, raffles and more!    All funds raised at this event go directly to helping folks in our local community who are struggling with hunger and poverty.    For more info, call 336-477-3873, online at

Every MONDAY night, celebrate recovery at Dan River Church on Riverside Drive in Danville.   The program starts at 6pm, and is for hurting people with addiction or other hurts, habits, and hangups.   People receive help to change their lives and support from other Christians.   For more info, call 480-227-5242.

VFW 647 Montly Steak Dinner

VFW Post 647 Ladies Auxilary hosts a steak dinner every first Friday of the month from 5:30pm - 7:30pm.  Dinner includes steak, baked potato, salad, bread, drink and dessert for $12.  This is available for dine-in or take-out.  VFW Post 647 is on Highway 58 W across from Big Sky rents in Danville.  Funds from these dinners stay local and are used to help the community.

Let's Dance!

Mondays are dancing nights at Ballou Recreation Center!    Learn new dances, make new friends, and get some exercise in the process.   Class meets every Monday night, 7 'til 8:30pm.   Cost is $4 per class.  To register or for more info, call 434-799-5216.
