Fridays at the Crossing

Friday, September 5th - it's another great party in the Fridays at the Crossing concert series!    This time around, it's the country rockin' & southern sounds of the Dirt Road Scholars!    Gates open at 6pm at the Crossing at the Dan off Craghead Street in historic downtown Danville.   Cost is $5, 12 & under get in FREE.  

Pickin' By The Lake 2014

Cruizn' at the Danville Mall

Time Machines Car Club and Danville Mall are proudly hosting a Cruise-In every FIRST SATURDAY of the month THROUGH SEPTEMBER at Danville Mall from 6 'til 9pm.   The events are open to ALL vehicles - from stock, special interest, modified, antique to performance and motocycles.    Admission is a donation of a non-perishable food item and/or toiletries for God's Storehouse.   There will also be a 50/50 Drawing with proceeds going to God's Storehouse.   Special awards will be given out for participants as well.   For more info, call 434-792-0400.

Health Care Workshop

Saturday, September 13th - there will be a FREE workshop as part of the Crucial Conversations Series for Health Care Professionals and Health Care Students on HPV-related cancers.   CE's and lunch provided.   Barb Bancroft, nationally acclaimed speaker and author will be there.  Break-out sessions will be conducted by well known local professionals in the field.    8am 'til 2:45pm, Oliver Hall, Temple Building, 1007 Bonner Avenue in Danville on the DCC campus.   For more info or to register, call 434-799-3705, option 1.

Visit The Tank Museum

For something different to do, try a visit to the Tank Museum on Highway 29, north of Danville.   Take an exciting walk through history and learn about all kinds of mobile transport units and other military history artifacts, uniforms and more.  Fun for the whole family and history buffs!    More info online at

VFW 647 Montly Steak Dinner

VFW Post 647 Ladies Auxilary hosts a steak dinner every first Friday of the month from 5:30pm - 7:30pm.  Dinner includes steak, baked potato, salad, bread, drink and dessert for $12.  This is available for dine-in or take-out.  VFW Post 647 is on Highway 58 W across from Big Sky rents in Danville.  Funds from these dinners stay local and are used to help the community.

Let's Dance!

Mondays are dancing nights at Ballou Recreation Center!    Learn new dances, make new friends, and get some exercise in the process.   Class meets every Monday night, 7 'til 8:30pm.   Cost is $4 per class.  To register or for more info, call 434-799-5216.
