Start every month with a unique astronomy-filled experience at the Danville Science Center every first Friday of the month from 5:30pm to 9pm. General admission is $5. Children three and under get in free as well as members and college students with valid IDs.
This month’s Science After Dark at the Danville Science Center is all about Jupiter
Watch astronomy based movies and Live Sky planetarium shows in our Digital Dome Theater. Participate in special creative hands-on activities in our lobby. Take a look into the vast expanse of the solar system and beyond through our telescopes.
Get a glimpse of the strange and beautiful worlds of other planets, moons, galaxies and other distant objects, weather permitting.
The Danville Science Center and the Institute for Advance Learning and Research invite you to take a closer look at Jupiter as it reaches opposition. It will be at its closest approach to the Earth and brighter than any other time of the year. This largest of the gas giants will be visible all night long on the ninth of May. Check out some of the features of this mammoth planet during our Live Sky presentation in the Digital Dome Theater. We will also be continuing our new hands-on Earth and Space activities in our lobby area, made available through the National Informal STEM Education Network and the Science Museum of Minnesota.
