(Danville, Va.) — A large contingent of Danville Police officers converged on South Main Street and near Grove Park playground Wednesday afternoon.

Numerous police cruisers and the Crime Scene Unit were stationed outside the car wash on South Main Street, the former bottling company building across from Bentto’s Restaurant. Officers wearing tactical gear were seen leading two men away in handcuffs. Witnesses said the officers were armed with “large weapons.”

At about the same time, a half-dozen uniformed officers were seen searching the brush near the basketball courts in Grove Park.
