(Martinsville, Va.) — Martinsville Police have made an arrest in a Thursday homicide.
52-year-old Robert Wayne Reynolds of Maple Street Martinsville is charged with first-degree in the beating death of 53-year-old Katherine Likens, whose body was found in a wooded area near BB&T bank shortly before 5:00 Thursday afternoon. The State Medical Examiner has ruled that Likens died of blunt force trauma to the head.
The Henry County Sheriff’s Department arrested Reynolds on Saturday at a hotel in Collinsville. Martinsville Police and the U. S. Marshal’s Joint Fugitive Task Force assisted in the arrest.
Reynolds is currently being held in Martinsville City Jail under no bond.
Likens was reported missing just after noon Thursday. After searching into the evening, officers found Likens’ body in the wooded area in between Ellsworth Street and Cleveland Avenue.
Police say the two knew each other and had dated previously.
