(Danville, Va.) – Two truckloads of relief supplies left Danville for Texas over the weekend but can’t get into Houston because of flooding.

Crew Chief Randy Johnson says the tractor-trailers are stuck in Livingston, Texas waiting for roads to clear so they can deliver their cargo to those in the region hardest hit by Hurricane Harvey.

The trucks left Danville on Friday in hopes of reaching Houston before the heaviest rains fell. But they are now stalled about 100 miles from their destination.

Johnson says one truck is full of blessing buckets, which carry items like toiletries and tooth brushes. The other truck is loaded with bottles of water, Gatorade and non-perishable food items.
