(Danville, Va.) – A Danville grand jury has returned indictments against 30 individuals charged with drug and firearms violations.

The round-up of suspects started Thursday morning and continued throughout the day. Danville Police were assisted by Pittsylvania County Sheriff’s deputies, ATF agents, Virginia State Police and U.S. Marshals.

The charges include possession or distribution of heroin, cocaine, marijuana and prescription medications. The firearms-related charges involve straw purchases and false statements provided on paperwork to illegally purchase guns.

The arrests cap an investigation that has been ongoing for several months.
