(Danville, Va.) — Former Virginia Tech safety Terrell Edmunds is headed to the Pittsburgh Steelers. Edmunds was the No. 28 pick in the first round of the 2018 NFL Draft.

All three of the Edmunds brothers have now made it to the NFL. While Terrell may be the last to reach the league, analysts say he has the potential to be one of the biggest steals in this draft because of his athleticism.

The Danville native was the 10th-ranked safety in the draft according to NFL.com, but Edmunds was the No. 3 safety picked in the first round.

It was a surprise to see him go in the first round. NFL.com and other mock drafts had him slotted as a Day 2 or perhaps even a Day 3 selection.

Meanwhile, Virginia Tech outside linebacker Tremaine Edmunds was drafted 16th by the Buffalo Bills. His brother, Trey, plays for the New Orleans Saints. His father, Ferrell, is in the Pro Football Hall of Fame, after a career in Miami in Seattle.
