(South Boston, Va.) — A 23-year-old South Boston man died in single-vehicle accident Friday.

Virginia State Police said Armante Meray Wyatt was driving a 1997 Toyota Camry traveling eastbound on Highway 360 when he ran off the left side of the road about 100 feet through a median strip before going down an embankment and striking a tree on the driver’s side.

The wreck happened around 2 a.m. Friday on the James D. Hagood Highway, near its intersection with Bellevue Road.

Wyatt was taken Sentara Halifax General Hospital, where he later died.

The Toyota was listed as a total loss.
