(Danville, Va.) — The Danville Fire Department responded to a house fire at 126 Burwood Place at 6:19 Thursday morning. Crews arrived at 6:21 am and found moderate smoke coming from the front of the single-story house.

The fire was knocked down and determined to be under control in ten minutes. The house sustained heavy fire and smoke damage in the kitchen and heavy smoke damage throughout the structure.

All occupants got out safely and there were no injuries.

The Fire Marshal’s office determined that the blaze started in some unattended cooking.

The family is being assisted by the American Red Cross.
