(Milton, N.C.) – Members of the Danville Life Saving Crew’s dive team were called to assist with a water rescue on the Dan River Saturday night, however, their services weren’t needed.

The Caswell 911 center received a 911 distress call from an individual at the Milton Boat Dock about 9:40 pm. The caller said several people who were travelling along the Dan River between Danville and Milton fell into the water when their rafts capsized.

The seven boaters made it to shore, and one used his cell phone maps to determine he was in cow pasture near the River Bend Road in Milton.

No one was injured.
