(Danville, Va.) – A house fire on Noel Avenue forced a family of six from their home Friday night.

The Danville Fire Department responded to 18 Noel Avenue about 9 p.m. and found smoke and flames in rear of the home. The fire was confined to the kitchen and was blamed on unattended cooking.

No one was injured and the family is being assisted by the Red Cross.

Firefighters were also called to 112 Parkway Drive just after 6 p.m. Friday, where two vehicles were ablaze. The cars were destroyed and the fire caused minor damage to a nearby home.

There were no injuries.
