(Yanceyville, N.C.) — A burglar broke into a Yanceyville preschool called Noah’s Educational Ark but got little for his effort.

On Tuesday, Aug. 28, the Caswell County Sheriff’s Office responded to the scene of a burglary and larceny from the preschool, which is located on Old Hwy. 86, Yanceyville.

Authorities say the burglar forced his way into the building and tried to take a piggy bank and a backpack, but failed. He set off the motion detector in the building and dropped the change jar and ran as law enforcement officers closed in on him. The piggy bank had an unknown amount of cash in it. The school was collecting the money as part of a fundraiser for a co-worker in need.

The burglar has not been identified but his image was caught on film by the school’s surveillance cameras
