(Roanoke, Va.) — The crackdown on organized gangs in Virginia has led to multiple arrests and indictments in Roanoke.

The first major federal prosecution of organized gang activity in Roanoke culminated Monday with indictments charging four suspected Rollin’ 30s members with crimes including racketeering conspiracy and conspiracy to commit murder.

Two of the defendants were charged with murder in aid of racketeering and related firearms offenses: 19-year-old Trayvone Raycron Kasey and 29-year-old Demonte Rashod Mack.

Prosecutors say the gang’s operations were centered in northwest Roanoke, in the Lansdowne neighborhood
