(Thomasville, N.C.) — Police say a man robbed a bank in Thomasville, North Carolina Tuesday while his girlfriend was having her taxes done across the street.

Thomasville Police arrested Stanley Rodgers after investigators say he robbed the Wells Fargo on Randolph Street of an undetermined amount of cash.

Police say he handed the teller a note to the teller demanding money and walked out of the bank after the robbery. Officers responded and later spotted the suspect coming out of Liberty Tax Service also on Randolph Street and directly across from the bank that was robbed.

Police said Rodger’s girlfriend was having her taxes prepared during the time of the hold-up; however, they do not believe she was involved in the robbery.

Rodgers was charged previously with two bank robberies that occurred in Thomasville in 2010 and 2011. He has since been charged with common law robbery, received a $250,000 secured bond and was placed in the Davidson County Jail.
