FRANKLIN COUNTY, Va. – The body of a missing fisherman has been recovered in Franklin County.

26-year-old Charles Jacob King of Hardy, Va went missing Saturday night. Crews received a call reporting a man in distress in the 5000 block of Brooks Mill Road and searched unsuccessfully for several hours. They were about to resume the search Sunday morning when King’s body was found by another fisherman who contacted the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office.

The apparent drowning remains under investigation but foul play is not suspected.
