DANVILLE, Va. – The Virginia Department of Health is reporting a COVID-19 outbreak at a multicare facility in Danville, Va.

According to the VDH, there are seven cases associated with the outbreak at Riverside Health and Rehabilitation Center.

The outbreak was reported on Monday but was first listed Wednesday morning on the organization’s database by the Virginia Long-term Task Force. No deaths have been associated with the outbreak.

The Pittsylvania-Danville Health District reported 22 new cases of coronavirus in Wednesday’s report compared to Tuesday’s figures. Three of those cases are classified as probable, meaning someone is displaying the signs of the illness and had contact with someone else who has previously tested positive.

Across Virginia, the VDH recorded 73,527 cases of the coronavirus as of Wednesday, July 15. Of those cases, 70,669 are confirmed and 2,858 are probable. There has been an increase of 1,084 cases from Tuesday.

The number of deaths reported is 1,992, an increase of 15 from Tuesday.
