DANVILLE, Va. – A fire that started in a crawl space left a Luna Lake home unlivable.

The Danville Fire Department responded to a fire at 916 Luna Lake Rd. at 5:55 am this morning. Fire was showing from the crawl space of the single-story home when the first trucks arrived about 6 a.m. Friday.

The family was outside the house when firefighters arrived and crews extinguished the flames with two handlines. The house suffered extensive damage.

Two adults and three children were displaced and are staying with family.

The fire was electrical in nature.

Three engines, one ladder truck, one tanker, a safety officer and a chief officer were on scene for  about two hours.
