HENRY COUNTY, Va. – An Axton man has surrendered to police in a murder that happened near Martinsville Monday afternoon.

23-year-old Taylor Paige Thomas was jailed for first-degree murder and firearms charges.

Just after 1:45 p.m. Monday, deputies were called to Lakewood Park Drive in the Laurel Park community of Henry County.

They found the 20-year-old Jeremiah Jerron Turner dead inside his mobile home.

Investigators believe Thomas came to Turner’s home, knocked on the door and Turner let him inside.

The two then went into a bedroom where police say Thomas shot and killed Turner before fleeing the home.

Investigators say Turner was shot multiple times.

His body has been taken to the medical examiner’s office for an autopsy.

Thomas is being held in the Henry County Jail without bond.
