(Henry County, Va) – The Henry County Sherriff’s office have made two arrests in connection with a shooting on June 2nd in Collinsville.  Just before 2am deputies responded to S&L Court where they located 19 year old Mason Wasoski in his vehicle suffering from a gunshot wound to his head.  He was airlifted from the scene to a hospital in Roanoke and was treated for life threatening injuries.  Wasoski is still hospitalized.

 

Two men have been arrested and charged in connection to the investigation:

Leif Keiglen Rider Hughes, 18, of Martinsville, was charged and arrested for aggravated malicious wounding, armed robbery and conspiracy to commit robbery.

Tymear Rayvonne Thompson, 20, of Martinsville, was charged and arrested for aggravated malicious wounding, armed robbery, use of a firearm during the commission of a felony (2 counts) and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.

It was determined by investigators that the men had planned to rob Wasoski and had arranged a meeting to purchase marijuana.  Thompson shot Wasoski before fleeing the scene.

Hughes and Thompson are currently being held in the Henry County Jail without bond.  The investigation is ongoing.
