HENRY COUNTY, Va. — A former Henry County Sheriff’s deputy who told investigators he returned home to find his wife dead has been found guilty of her murder.

David Morse was convicted of first-degree murder and conspiracy to commit first-degree murder at the conclusion of his three-day trial in Henry County Circuit Court Wednesday.

On May 13th of last year, Morse called police to report that he arrived at his wife’s home on Wingfield Orchard Road to find Pamela Morse dead.

A 2010 Jeep Compass was taken from the residence but was recovered that night. Shortly thereafter, authorities charged David Morse, Casey Rogers, Tanna Fitzgerald, and Collin Russell with conspiracy to commit murder.

David Morse will be sentenced in the same courtroom on February 22nd.
