HALIFAX COUNTY, Va. – The Halifax County Sheriff’s Office has arrested Richard Hannaford and charged him with more than 100 sexual offenses involving two juveniles.

Investigator Jeff Burton took Hannaford into custody on multiple rape and sodomy charges. The alleged offenses occurred between January and December of last year and involved two underage individuals.

Hannaford is 42 and is from Clover, VA.

On Thursday, a Halifax County Grand Jury indicted Hannaford on 58 counts of sodomy and 52 counts of rape.

The indictments were served on Hannaford and he was arrested without incident. He is being held at the Halifax Adult Detention Center with no bond.
