The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention raises Danville’s COVID-19 transmission rate to Medium. According to the Register & Bee that is the middle of the center’s 3-tiered ranking and while officials still don’t recommend wearing face masks they say people who are at a high risk for severe illnesses should talk to a health provider on precautions. Pittsylvania County remains in the low transmission rate category.
