Former George Washington High School football and track star David Wilson will be inducted into Virginia Tech Sports Hall of Fame in September, according to a release from the school. Wilson along with six other former Hokie star athletes will be inducted in a ceremony at The Inn at Virginia Tech on Sept. 8 and will be recognized at halftime of the game against Purdue on Sept. 9.

Wilson played at Virginia Tech from 2009-2011 and amassed over 3,000 yards of total offense, while scoring 23 total touchdowns. During the 2011 season Wilson was named the ACC Player of the Year and second-team All-American. He also set and still holds the program record for rushing yards in a single season with 1,709 yards.

Wilson was selected by the New York Giants in the 2012 NFL Draft with the 32nd overall pick.

During his senior season at GW, Wilson rushed for 2,291 yards and 35 touchdowns. He was named the Gatorade Player of the Year for Virginia along with received all-region and all-district selections. Wilson was also a star on the Eagles track team as he won the national championship in the triple-jump at the 2009 Nike Indoor Meet.
