The National Weather Service in Blacksburg has issued a Flood Watch for Tuesday afternoon through tonight. The watch is in effect for Pittsylvania and Halifax counties as well as Danville and South Boston.
A slow moving frontal boundary combined with deep moisture will promote the threat of heavy rainfall. A swath of 2 to 4 inches of rain is possible in the watch area.
Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations.
