Violent crime in Pittsylvania County was down to 46 crimes in 2025 after there were 74 in 2024. Last year was a five year low for violent crime in Pittsylvania County.
Murders were down by 50% in Pittsylvania County in 2025. There were three murders in the county last year with a 100% clearance rate.
Property crimes were also down across the board in Pittsylvania County last year. Burglaries were down by over 38%, larcenies dropped by over 34.5%, fraud was down by 24% and motor vehicle thefts were down by nearly 31% in 2025 compared to 2024.
In 2025 drug offenses were down by nearly 56% in Pittsylvania County and weapons violations were down by about 10.5% compared to the previous year.
