U.S. Representative John McGuire has been declared the winner of the Republican Primary Election for the House of Representatives 5th District over Melanie Lucero, according to the Associated Press. The AP has also declared Tom Perriello the winner of the Democratic Primary Election for the House of Representatives 5th District over Suzanne Krzyzanowski and Rob Tracinski.

McGuire and Perriello will face off in the November election for the 5th District.

In the Republican Primary for the U.S. Senate, the AP declared Bert Mizusawa the winner over Kim Farrington and David Williams.  Mizusawa will face the incumbent Mark Warner in the November election for U.S. Senate.
