As we welcome in March, we also welcome in a new WBTM/Danville Dental Associates Superstar of the Month…he’s Mark Aron of River City TV…letter submitted by Jack Garrett.
Mark has worked tirelessly to keep Danville residents informed through his job as manager of River City TV. In that capacity, he works as a writer, videographer, and reporter. His job is anything but 9-5 and requires that Mark be on call during times of crisis. Through his work with River City TV, Mark has provided on-the-spot coverage of tornadoes, power outages, floods, and natural disasters, including Tropical Storm Michael in October, 2018. More recently, Mark has kept Danville residents informed on road conditions during the ice and snow storms of January, and has helped city and county residents navigate the drinking water crisis. Mark is a product of the local education system and a graduate of George Washington High School. Following graduation from VA Tech, Mark returned to Danville, where he worked as a sports reporter and photographer for WSET 13, before accepting the position as Multimedia Design Manager for River City TV. He has won numerous awards in that capacity, and has been an integral part of Danville’s renaissance as the “Comeback City.” He is a devoted family man, husband, father, and Christian, and also takes care of his elderly parents. I can think of no one more worthy of this honor than Mark Aron!
We concur with Jack wholeheartedly. Way too often, the man behind the camera, the narrator, the man who brings us the story, gets overlooked…but not in this case!
