(Franklin County, Va.) — Virginia State Police say a Gretna woman was killed in a two-vehicle crash in Franklin County earlier this week.

A Saturn L200 driven by 28-year-old Janice Lynette Haley was traveling south on U.S. 220 Tuesday afternoon when the vehicle ran off the left side of the roadway, crossed the median and ran head-on into a Ford F-150 pickup truck. Haley was wearing a seatbelt and died at the scene.

47-year-old Keith Shelton McConnell of Glade Hill was driving the pickup. He was not wearing a seatbelt and was treated for non-life threatening injuring at SOVAH Health Martinsville.

The accident remains under investigation.
