HENRY COUNTY, VA — Investigators have identified the woman killed in a weekend side-by-side accident as 38-year-old Angela Michelle Burks of Spencer.

Burks was a passenger on the UTV and was thrown from the vehicle Saturday night at the Outdoorsman Park ATV Trails and Catfish Pond in Martinsville.

Henry County investigators say Paul Eddie Burks, 39, of Spencer, was operating the 2015 Can-Am side-by-side UTV and was headed up a steep incline when the vehicle overturned. Angela Burks was ejected from the UTV.

She was brought to Sovah Health Martinsville, where Burks was pronounced dead. Paul Burks was treated at the same hospital for non-critical injuries. Investigators say they were not wearing helmets or seat belts at the time of the accident.

The investigation into the accident is still ongoing, and no charges have been filed.
