
LYNCHBURG, Va. – Four teenagers are in custody in Lynchburg after a brazen armed robbery Thursday afternoon.
Just after 3:30, Lynchburg police responded to the intersection of 4th and Jackson Streets for reports of shots fired. They found a couple who’d been forced from their car and robbed at gunpoint by a group of boys. The group took items from the man and woman and from their car before fleeing on foot.
Officers were able to locate the teens and recovered a backpack with four guns inside.
Police arrested a 17-year-old boy, a 16-year-old boy, a 15-year-old boy and a 14-year-old boy and charged them each with robbery, grand larceny and use of a firearm in the commission of a felony.
No one was injured and the suspects’ names are being withheld because all are juveniles.
