DANVILLE, Va. – It’s fall and that means leaf raking is just around the corner. In Danville, loose leaf collection is already underway and leaf vacuum trucks will continue to roll through Danville’s residential neighborhoods though Jan. 31.

Weather permitting, yard waste and loose leaves are typically collected using the same schedule as garbage collection.

If you live in a residential neighborhood within Danville’s city limits, it’s almost as simple as raking your leaves to the edge of your property. Bagged leaves should be placed near the curb the evening before your collection day. Loose leaves must be within the vacuum truck’s reach from the paved road which is usually within four feet.

Any city residents wishing to use biodegradable bags may pick them up free of charge at the Public Works office.
