A woman has been arrested in Halifax County after shooting her husband. According to the Gazette-Virginian, deputies responded to a report of a shooting at Beaver Pond Road in Nathalie on Saturday night.

Once on scene deputies found a man suffering from a gunshot wound to the leg. The victim stated he had been shot by his wife. 

35-year-old Victoria Annette Jenkins was arrested on charges of attempted second-degree murder, reckless handling of a firearm, brandishing a firearm, malicious wounding, and possession of a firearm in the commission of a felony. She has been transported to the Blue Ridge Regional Jail and is being held without bond. Jenkins first court appearance will be on Tuesday.
