As we dive further into the school year, it’s time to name another superstar. This month our WBTM/Danville Dental Associates Superstar of the Month is Cori Sowers, Teacher and ITRT Technician for Park Avenue Elementary School. Letter submitted anonymously.
“I’d like to nominate Cori Sowers for Superstar of the Month for her dedication to students and the Danville community. Cori serves as both the Computer Science teacher and IT technician at Park Avenue Elementary School, where she supports learning and technology for the entire school.
In addition to her daily duties, Cori also teaches an after-school STEAM class, providing hands-on learning opportunities and coordinating workshops with professionals in STEAM fields. She also organizes field trips to connect classroom learning with real-world experiences.
Cori is the driving force behind Danville’s annual STEAM+C Night, a free, carnival-style event that brings families together to explore Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, Math, Computer Science, and Community. With over 100 interactive stations and a Truck Area featuring real vehicles, the event encourages creativity, curiosity, and discovery. Cori plans and oversees the entire event, which will celebrate its 7th year in 2026.
Her passion, leadership, and service make a lasting impact on students and families throughout our area. Cori truly goes above and beyond.
Based on this anonymous submission, Park Avenue Elementary, Danville Public Schools and our community as a whole is truly fortunate to have Cori Sowers utilizes her skills and talents for the betterment of our children’s education and futures. It is an honor to officially deem Cori Sowers the Danville Dental Associates September Superstar of the Month.
