The Henry County Sheriff’s Office has released an update on a missing juvenile. Deputies are continuing to investigate the disappearance of missing juvenile Zachary Wade.

Wade was last seen on October 7, 2025, leaving the Blue Ridge Yacht Club Road area in Bassett. He was reported missing shortly thereafter, and investigators have continued to follow up on every lead received by the Sheriff’s Office.

Based on information gathered during the investigation, it is believed that Wade was picked up by friends and may be staying with individuals in another county. Investigators have spoken with the juvenile’s stepfather, with whom Wade lived at the time he went missing, as well as his biological father. It is believed that individuals have had conversations with the family about obtaining custody of Wade.

The Sheriff’s Office emphasizes that if Wade left home due to concerns about possible abuse, it is important for him to come forward so those concerns can be properly investigated. At this time, investigators have no evidence indicating that Wade was being abused before he left home. There is a legal process that must be followed in matters involving abuse investigations and any effort by others to seek custody of the juvenile.

The Henry County Sheriff’s Office is reminding the public that harboring or aiding a juvenile who has left home without permission may be considered contributing to the delinquency of a minor under Virginia law. Anyone who may be assisting Zachary is encouraged to do the right thing and contact law enforcement immediately.

Anyone with information on Zachary’s whereabouts is asked to contact the Henry County Sheriff’s Office at (276) 656 4200, the non emergency line at (276) 638 8751, or call 911.
