A company that opened a large facility in Danville just three years ago is already closing its doors. AeroFarms has announced it will close its facility in Danville on Friday.
The closing will impact 173 employees. In a statement the company said the lead investor can no longer fund the company.
AeroFarms officially opened its 140,000 square foot Danville facility in September of 2022 at Cane Creek Centre in Ringgold. It was the world’s largest aeroponic smart farm at the time it opened.
The company filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection in June of 2023, but later in the year emerged fully funded.
