A member of the Pittsylvania County Board of Supervisors has run into some legal trouble. Staunton River District Supervisor Tim Dudley has been charged with shoplifting for an incident that occurred in Altavista in November.

The Altavista Police Department responded on November 25 to a report of shoplifting from a business on Main Street. Following an investigation warrants were issued for Dudley for the incident on November 26.

Details around the incident are still scarce, however whatever was reportedly stolen was less than $1,000 in value. Dudley has served on the Pittsylvania County Board of Supervisors since being elected in 2019.
